This video’s up on the New Yorker website in collaboration with an article from last weeks mag about elevators.  Its time lapse footage from the elevators where a man was trapped for 41 hours.  That’s right, 41 hours.

Just had a friend get the opportunity to apply for a studio.  If you’re in NYC and you’re interested in a subsidized studio, this is a good place to look.  You can only get on the waiting list to apply at this point, but it seems worth it.

So I ended up going to BAM on saturday to check out Takeover, which I posted about last week, and it was kind of a disaster.

We got there just before the massive around the block line was totally formed, so we only waited about 15-20 minutes to get in.   Once we were inside it was pretty hard to get around, and even harder to get a drink.

This Times article pretty well sums it up, including this amazing quote:  “The academy’s executive producer Joseph V. Melillo, looking somewhat overwhelmed amid a sea of hipsters, said, ‘We lost our virginity tonight.’”

Good try BAM, you’ll do better next time.

The renovation of Penn Station cannot happen soon enough. This is more of a future MTNY as Penn is currently a total shithole, but the plan to renovate it, outlined in this daily news article looks pretty sweet.

Back in college we used to have parties where we would lock everyone in the house. This is a step up, with all of the glory that is BAM opened up to partying, including DJs, a Lindsey Lohan Midcareer retrospective, and bands (including Antibalas)
