Immediately. The talent is there, even though Eli is clearly not a leader of men. If the head coach actually led the team maybe they could beat the Redskins. Maybe we should throw to Plax in the endzone a little less, and throw 10-12 yard passes a little more. Strategy is only a small part of how enfuriatingly rudderless this team is. The sooner Tom Coughlin is not the coach the better, I wish he would quit and go coach Arkansas.

I love youtube and Japan. In this Japanese TV show called “Real Baseball Board Game” two players play each other using a pitching machine and a baseball diamond that has been modified to recreate where fielders would be. Somehow they convinced Barry to come on and play against that guy who played the japanese guy in Major League (you know, “NO! MAAHBLES!, that guy). The result is fantastic. It also shows that Barry Bonds may be the most competitive human of all time, and almost totally joyless in his need to crush his opponents. I can see him brushing his kid back in the batting cage just to make a point.

I’ve had this book In Praise of Athletic Beauty on my to do list for a while. I actually got throug the first 30-40 pages and then had to move on to something else, but I thought of it again when I saw this clip of one of the best final football plays of all time. 15 laterals over 60 seconds, and you can imagine how it ends.
